March
Dirt & Flowers
Dirt and flowers
Flowers & dirt
and dirt
and dirt
Dirt and flowers
Flowers and dirt
and dirt
and dirt
The song begins in my mind
Conjured from pure boredom
My fingers start to ache
While my back screams
Mindlessly I pull weeds
Oops that wasn't a weed
Does this task have an end
I sigh at the sprout
I don't have a green thumb
I wonder what inspired me
The flowerbed looks dreary
I watered it yesterday
I reach for another invader
Instead stopping in awe
Perfection stares me in the eye
Crisp sunshine pours forth
My shaky hand touches
A delicately soft petal
I smile with a tear in my eye
This makes it worth it
The year's first born
A lovely Daffadil unfolding
Renewed I dive back in
Happy Spring is here.
- Cleoisis

February
Inside A Heart
AH, The smell of you
Coppery, Earthy, sweet
Once full of emotion.
Now you lay there staring at me
Nothing to say?
Not even a sigh of acknowledgement?
I barely recognize you.
Do you even see me anymore?
I remember
When you could make me feel
So passionately, so raw
I remember
When you could make me feel
such love, such anger
That was moments ago.
I didn't mean to hit you so hard.
I didn't mean to hit you so much.
Now you're ignoring me.
I've opened your heart
But I still can't see how you feel.
And all you do is stare at me.
- Priest
Congratulations Priest on winning the February "Poem Of The Month" contest, a great piece that did the title alot of justice.
January
Rain,Mist and Me
Slicing through the grey waking
Slicing through the grey vein…crimson
Drops from above, hurting and cold
Drops from the eyes…more saline
Stillness in this fog is comfort
Stillness in the heart…is pain
Sighing forever and a day
Sighing forever…means no relief
Realizing that the rain has more purpose than I
Realizing that the mist has more substance than me.

December
The Holidays
Silent night, lonley night...
The tears in my eyes reflect the Christmas lights.
A wreath hangs on the door of an empty home.
Just another day, another holiday, spent alone.
Empty traditions that lost meaning long ago,
The lights and decorations are all just for show.
There's only one gift I want under my tree,
I want the one I lost to be here with me.
They say magic things happen at this time of year,
How I long for the one I love to be here.
So on Christmas Eve I will close my eyes and wish
To awaken on Christmas morn in his embrace, to feel his kiss.
- Ophelia Immortal
Congratulations Ophelia Immortal on winning Decembers "Poem of the Month", your poem was strong and striking. Thankyou for entering.
November
The Winter Freeze
The breeze, the chill, the freeze, the burn
I can feel it, taste it
I do not understand it, though I am willing to learn
I do not want to give in this time
I will not let it win
But damn if I can’t stop myself
Though it’s a mortal sin
The hour, the second, the minute, the day
It comes and goes, as if to tease
Always wanting to play
Stealing my breath, breaking my pride
Leaving me on my knees
Empty and alone I’m left
Without my senses in tact
Winter looked upon me once
Now it never looks back
I held it tight, I kept it close
Shared with it my fears
I kept the fire locked deep inside
And now it’s vanished like my tears
Gone without a trace
Leaving without saying goodbye
Left its mark upon my face
I should not have even tried
Longing, wanting, wishing
I still had any feeling to fight
It came to me and took its fill
Asked no more, no less
And left me here only with myself
A weeping, sobbing mess
- Mother5earth

October
Becoming
My heartbeat is all I hear
I can’t breathe
It’s coming through
it will tear
it will tear my chest apart
All I hear
the blast of my heart
Blood on the stage
Flesh
Splinters of bone, strips of skin
Time for our scene
I’m dead,
Rib cage wide open, nothing within
My eyelids are sore and ill
I lay still
If you will hold me
if you will
Then come closer, take a bow
I’ll lay still
Be fast, hold me now
I whisper my lines for you to hear
I’ve become your dead angel
I’ll always be near.
- ApolloniA
